Recovered from the Injury — But Your Body Still Doesn't Feel Right?
Post-injury restrictions, scar tissue, and compensation patterns often outlast the original healing. Rolfing helps you finish the recovery your body started.

Injury Recovery & Scar Tissue
Does this sound like you?
If you recognize yourself in this list, Rolfing may help — your therapist will tailor each session to what you need.
Book a session- An old injury site that still feels tight, guarded, or restricted despite completing standard rehab.
- Movement patterns that feel off-balance or asymmetrical since the injury.
- Areas of the body that feel stuck, numb, or hypersensitive around scar tissue.
- Compensations in other parts of the body — hip pain after an ankle injury, shoulder issues after a wrist injury — that developed as you protected the original site.
- A sense that you are not back to your pre-injury baseline even though imaging and clinical tests are clear.
About Injury Recovery & Scar Tissue
What you should know
Injury recovery is not complete when pain resolves. After any significant trauma — surgery, fracture, severe sprain, or soft tissue injury — the fascia surrounding and connecting to the injury site undergoes a process of thickening, adhesion, and reorganization. If that process is not addressed, it leaves behind restrictions that alter movement mechanics, create new compensations, and predispose adjacent structures to future injury. Rolfing Structural Integration and Scar Work directly address this post-injury fascial environment — softening adhesions, restoring mobility to restricted tissue, and releasing the compensation patterns that have built up around the original injury site.

How Rolfing and Scar Work Support Post-Injury Recovery

Victor Aguilar is a certified Rolfer trained at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute who also performs specialized Scar Work — a precise manual therapy technique focused on reducing the adhesion, tethering, and sensory changes associated with surgical and traumatic scars. For post-injury patients, Victor's approach begins by assessing both the local injury site and the whole-body compensation patterns that have developed around it. Rolfing techniques are then used to release fascial restrictions remote from the injury that are maintaining altered movement patterns. Where scar tissue is a factor — post-surgical, post-fracture, or from significant soft tissue damage — Scar Work directly addresses the scar and its fascial attachments, restoring mobility and sensory normalization to tissue that standard rehab does not reach. This combination of Rolfing and Scar Work makes Victor uniquely equipped to support patients in the later stages of injury recovery.
Post-injury Rolfing may be appropriate if you have completed standard physical therapy or chiropractic rehabilitation but still feel structural restrictions or movement asymmetries, if you have surgical scars or significant trauma scars that are restricting tissue mobility, if you are dealing with chronic compensations — hip, back, shoulder, or knee issues — that developed after a prior injury elsewhere, or if you simply feel that your recovery is plateaued and want a different approach to finishing the job. Sessions are 65–75 minutes. Single sessions at $180, three-session packages at $495, or the ten-session series at $1,500 for comprehensive structural work.
