About Hip & SI Joint Pain
What you should know
The hip and sacroiliac joint are among the most load-bearing structures in the body, and their function depends on balanced tension throughout the pelvis, lumbar spine, and lower extremities. When fascial asymmetry exists — whether from an old ankle injury, a leg length discrepancy, decades of single-sided habits, or previous pelvic trauma — the hip and SI joint bear the consequences. Chronic hip and SI pain is rarely a problem confined to those joints. It is usually the visible end result of a structural imbalance that runs through the whole lower body. Rolfing Structural Integration addresses that imbalance at the fascial and structural level, restoring pelvic symmetry and reducing the chronic load on the hip and SI joint.
Our approach
How Rolfing Releases Hip and SI Joint Dysfunction

Victor Aguilar's approach to hip and SI joint pain begins with a thorough assessment of pelvic alignment, lower limb mechanics, and fascial tension patterns throughout the trunk and legs. Key contributors to chronic hip and SI dysfunction — including restricted iliolumbar and sacrotuberous ligaments, shortened hip flexors and rotators, and fascial asymmetry in the quadratus lumborum and gluteal region — are addressed systematically using Rolfing's graduated pressure and positional techniques. Victor works not only at the hip and pelvis but through the entire kinetic chain — feet, legs, lumbar spine — to correct the structural patterns that are overloading the joint. Patients with long-standing SI instability often benefit from a series approach, as cumulative fascial reorganization is more effective than isolated sessions for this presentation.
Rolfing may be the right approach for your hip or SI pain if the joint has been repeatedly manipulated or treated without lasting change, if you suspect a structural or postural imbalance is contributing to your symptoms, if you have a history of lower extremity injury that may have altered your pelvic mechanics, or if imaging has not revealed a clear structural cause and you are looking for a soft tissue and connective tissue explanation. Single sessions at $180. Three-session packages at $495. Ten-session series at $1,500.
